Bart Semmler, PE, BCxP
Senior Mechanical Engineer
A lifelong Alaskan, Bart’s parents insisted he go to college out of state to experience somewhere other than what he had known all his life. He decided on the University of Idaho to pursue a mechanical engineering degree. Bart interned at AMC Engineers the summer before his senior year, then promptly graduated and returned to Alaska to work for AMC Engineers with a new appreciation for the beautiful state he now works in. When he’s not bending his brain on the unique and challenging projects AMC Engineers is involved in, Bart enjoys staying active, getting outside, working on his house, and spending time with his family.

What do you enjoy most about working at AMC Engineers?
The people. In my opinion, the people you work with can make or break your work experience. The people at AMC are not only hard-working and intelligent, but friendly and have a great sense of humor.

Why did you choose this career?
My dad was a Civil Engineer and was always around for us kids. Family has always been a big goal of mine so choosing a career where I would reliably be home was important. I chose the mechanical route because I enjoy being hands on and “tinkering”.

AMC has been an amazing place to build my career. It is a company that values the happiness and well-being of its employees, as well as, pursuing projects that are unique and challenging. There are no cookie-cutter projects here; every job is a new adventure and challenge.
