Ken, a lifelong Alaskan, joined AMC Engineers in 1991 shortly after graduating from Oregon State University and has served as President since 2019. Inspired by a family legacy in electrical engineering—both his father and grandfather were instrumental in establishing Anchorage’s electrical and telecommunications utilities—Ken naturally gravitated toward this career, bringing his passion to every project. Known for his ability to simplify complex electrical challenges into practical, user-friendly solutions, Ken listens closely to clients, ensuring their needs are consistently met with proven technology. His dedication to continual learning matches his commitment to excellence; for over a decade, Ken taught the electrical segment of the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Northern Design Course, contributing to the training of future engineering professionals. Outside the office, Ken enjoys spending time with his family hiking, skiing, fishing, and exploring the Alaskan wilderness.

  1. What has been your greatest achievement or your proudest moment while working at AMC Engineers?

    Being elected as AMC’s President in 2019. I started as an entry level engineer with AMC Engineers in 1991 and I have been privileged to work with so many talented individuals and participated in so many exceptional projects over the years. I am grateful and humbled to have been given this opportunity.

  2. Why did you choose this career?

    I have been interested in all things electrical since high school and it runs in the family. My grandfather started an electrical power company to serve downtown Anchorage in the early 50s and my dad was an engineer with the telephone utility in Anchorage for 35 years.

  3. What do you enjoy most about working at AMC Engineers?

    The people I get to work with and the incredible projects that we get to design.
