Why did you choose this career?
I've always been attracted to complexity and things that challenge the mind. Being an engineer presents you with problems that require a great deal of knowledge to even understand the questions being asked, let alone the knowledge needed to come up with appropriate solutions. Electricity is somewhat mystical in that it can be as wild and raging as a lightning storm, or as imperceptible as the current used to turn on our computers. Electrical engineering is the perfect blend of the complex and necessary things people use every day. It still fascinates me and probably always will.

Who or what inspires you?
I continuously look to God for strength and inspiration. I’ve found that the periods of my life with the most growth have been when I’m closest to Him. Nature is another source of inspiration, looking to the mountains during an Alaskan sunrise makes me feel truly grateful to be alive.

What's your favorite hobby or pastime?
I started playing guitar when I was eight and have been playing ever since. Music is an excellent creative outlet for me, and there is not much I would rather do than play guitar while my family is nearby.
