Elevated colorful building

Project

Yukon-Kuskokwim Regional Aquatic Health and Safety Center

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Fitness Center provides the City of Bethel and the region with a space for recreation and wellness. The facility features a six-lane pool, wading pool, water slide, spa, and locker rooms, along with multi-purpose exercise rooms, a fitness area, and meeting spaces. Designed for the harsh Alaskan environment, the structure is elevated on thermo-piles anchored in permafrost to ensure stability. A wind turbine supplements the facility’s energy needs, enhancing sustainability and efficiency.
